Thrilled to see Nadia Sawalha looking so sassy in her versatile Keffiyeh and appreciating all the support from the Sawalha sisters and everyone else who has shared a story wearing theirs too

The Story of How This Came To Be:
A playfully creative way to upcycle a box of keffiyehs that were meant to be cotton but turned up as polyester!
Initially, I thought I'd make bunting, but on opening the box and seeing the product and realising that all that fabric would be way too much bunting, I thought, this needs to be made into something else -
"What if I fold it into four and cut a hole out of the middle?"
And lo behold, multi-ways to wear upcycled Keffiyeh!
Bonus? The cut-out piece became bunting (thanks to my friend Jenny) f
I'm not a pro seamstress so Zig Zag stitch around the neckline (or hip or waistline depending on how you wear it) was definitely my friend 😊
These were sold on the Sutton Friends of Palestine stall at a local EcoFair and helped raise over £900 for a charity delivering medical aid to Palestinian children in 2024. Bonus? The donations were match-funded by an anonymous donor meaning SFOP actually raised £1800 that day.
